Unfortunately we have been sick for past few days (hm…more like a week), but Pinterest has been our 24h occupation and our savior. Our inspiration buckets are full and ideas are cooking.
Anyhow, before we get all crafty again, we just had to share this amazing book with you, it’s called Drawing Autism by Jill Mullin and it was featured on 50 Watts.
Quote from 50 Watts:
Drawing Autism is an incredible collection of artwork by people diagnosed with autism, from teenage amateurs to established artists.
Bellow are some of our fave images:
Felix: Imaginary City Map, Age 11
David Barth: Vogels (“Birds” in Dutch), 2008 (at age 10)
Donna Williams: The Outsider
I’m going to look into this book. I have some ink drawings that I call my OCD drawings, and they are very dense and obsessive a bit like the top 2 pieces here. I love the bird one.
Thanx!
That’s great, make sure you do. We think that it’s an amazing book and artwork is absolutely gorgeous. Would love to see your drawings, love, love, love linear density 🙂
Glad that you like the post. You are very welcome.
Thanks for reading!
I love the bird one too. And the map. These are incredible! Thanks for the tip on the book.
Yes they are, absolutely amazing. No problem 🙂
Thank you for this great post.
You are very welcome, thanks for reading 🙂
These works of art just made my heart stop, especially the Outsider. I have a close relationship with a high-functioning autistic guy and I can imagine him drawing something like the Imaginary Road Map, which was breathtaking. And I really love the perspective mind-trip in David’s Birds. I must look into this book!
